I was thrilled to be asked by the City of Calgary to graphic record for their community workshop in June. The City is initiating Transit Oriented Development (TOD) for one of their light rail transit stations.
TOD focuses on densifying the development around transit stations to promote more use of transit and lessen the congestion heading into the city. It’s also about building better park space and creating an environment where people want to live.
Calgary models community engagement — the City informs and involves the local community and asks for their input into decisions that affect them. It was so important to give a balanced view on the TOD issue — capturing the community voice and also recording the City’s data and projects.
