Early Childhood: Social and Emotional Supports

We designed, facilitated, and journey mapped three sessions on early childhood social and emotional supports for families in Comox, Kamloops, and Vancouver. A select group of families in each community came together in a workshop for their region and we facilitated a discussion on challenges, opportunities, and what’s working well in accessing social and emotional supports for children. The discussion was detailed and covered a range of topics, as evidenced in the rich detail in each of these maps. The maps were drawn in real time while people shared their perspectives, and are a composite of multiple families’ experiences. The maps are being used by researchers and advocates to push for sustainable and impactful changes in the system so children receive the supports they need in the early years.
