At a series of four workshops, we mapped out new parents’ lived experience with breastfeeding in different communities, including knowledge and supports before birth, post-delivery, and during the following months. These maps were compiled in real time during each workshop, and were a co-creation with workshop participants and the graphic facilitator. The structure and sequence of the maps changed many times during the sessions as the story evolved until we had consensus from the group on the final version.
Three workshops were “patient-only” to capture authentic feedback on their experiences (read more about patient-only journey mapping), and one workshop was a group of health care providers to capture their perspective on the system.
