At the first in-person gathering of WWF-Canada’s terrestrial and blue carbon community of practice, a diverse group of academics, NGOs, and Indigenous partners, came together to share knowledge on how communities can better capture and store carbon in nature. Over the course of two days, graphic recorder Brittany, captured rich dialogues on restoration, protection, stewardship, and the critical importance of Indigenous data sovereignty. The session balanced technical topics like remote sensing with deeply personal stories of community-led conservation.
To support deeper engagement, we developed three custom visual templates to facilitate breakout discussions and ensure the group’s collective wisdom was captured.
The resulting graphics served as a living record of the gathering, helping to build relationships across the network and providing a visual tool for future reporting and advocacy.
