At the “Our IPV Story: A Journey into Lived Experience Co-Research” conference, hosted by the Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care and funded by Queen’s University, a diverse community of survivors, researchers, and service providers gathered to explore the power of co-research in addressing intimate partner violence (IPV). Over the course of the day, graphic recorder Brittany captured deep dialogues that blended academic research with personal stories, arts-integrated dance performances, and sound therapy.
To mirror the project’s focus on storytelling, we created a large-scale, storybook-themed Engagement Wall where participants could contribute their own reflections and notes of encouragement. Working with a rich palette of purples and teals, the digital graphics utilized inclusive, strength-based imagery to honour the voices of those with lived experience. These visual records now serve as a foundational tool for the centre’s ongoing social media campaigns and research initiatives.
