University of Victoria: Mental Health Research Cluster
Digital Graphic Recording

At this annual workshop hosted by the University of Victoria’s Mental Health Research Cluster (MHRC), a diverse interdisciplinary network of researchers, project partners, and patients with lived experience gathered to co-create multifaceted approaches to holistic mental well-being. Spanning multiple academic departments, the workshop focused on breaking down traditional research silos to explore interconnected themes such as biological psychiatry, substance use, aging, and stigma reduction.

The session marked our third consecutive year supporting this initiative. To honour the network’s ongoing growth, the client displayed our graphic recordings from the previous two years, allowing participants to reflect on past discussions and build upon them. Tanya captured the day’s insights, translating complex data and personal narratives into inclusive, accessible visual notes. These illustrations provide a collaborative, living archive that helps the research team align future projects with patient priorities and share their collective findings with community partners and policymakers.
